Something old, something new

Oh well, time just flies past when you let it do what it wants...

So, I did not pass the challenge for last year. But I still got about 150 miniatures painted, for which I am happy.

And of course I planned a new challenge for 2014:

Painting the Empire army for Sigmar's Blood campaign.

As the campaign consists of four battles, I will try to paint the army for each battle for each quarter of the year. For the first quarter this means painting the Empire Battleforce (20 swordsmen, 10 handgunners, 8 knights and 1 cannon with 3 crew) and A Witch Hunter Hero to lead the force.

I have painted some of the required miniatures some years ago, but I will revamp those a bit. And if the painting goes well I might try to get the Vampire Count army painted too ;-) (Yeah, dream on...)

In addition, I got something done for the challenge. As usual I get sidetracked with my painting but I will do my best to stick to the plan. Even though the new Dwarf and Tyranid miniatures tempt me so much...

The cannon crew I had already painted, as well as the guns themselves. But I wanted to give them bases so I actually only did the bases. But, they are done now (though only the cannon is needed for the campaign).

It's alive!

Finally got something done for my New Years resolution, which was painting at least one miniature per day, for the whole year.

So here's the first completed project, some old metal miniatures I found in the back of the cupboard:

1 Unit of 15 Dwarf Hammeres with shields (if I remember correctly those came from some old plastic Dwarf Warrior box). Contains full command unit (Champion, Standard Bearer & Musician)

1 Dwarf Runesmith
